Persistence

Wasn't it Emerson who said, "That which we persist in doing becomes easier. Not that the nature of the thing has changed, but our capacity to do so has increased." Then Heber J. Grant picked up on that saying and not only said it a lot, but lived it. Weight-loss is a lot like that. It seems to become easier. It used to be so hard to leave a cookie alone. Now, it is no problem to avoid cookies and other good things altogether. We replaced sweets with fresh fruit. and things like that. Going to the gym is now almost methodical. We are there 5 times a week without fail. And it's almost a given now, that Rhonda makes whole wheat bread and we eat a lot of it. This week, I lost one pound, down to 217 pounds. It's the lowest I've weighed since the late 1980s. Rhonda, despite another almost perfect week, gained two pounds. We're really scratching our heads on that one.
