Whole Wheat
“Just like Mom used to make!” This is especially true with the wheat Bill and Rhonda have in their food storage and that they use right now. You, see Bill helped store this same wheat 38 years ago. So if he eats a piece of whole wheat bread now in 2009 and he feels like it tastes the same as bread his mother used to make, well, that's why. It's the same wheat that was packed in 1971. Bill remembers getting the wheat from a semi truck that pulled into the Church parking lot. It came in 100 pound burlap bags. At home and down in their basement they had lots of metal storage cans. Bill's Dad broke up large chunks of dry ice and placed about a half cup of dry ice in the bottom of each can. Mom helped the children pick up the burlap bags and pour wheat into each. Then Dad came along with the hammer and pounded the metal lid on very tight. Bill, as a nine year old wrote on the top of the can with a green magic marker the year and that it was wheat. It must have been well sealed because it's still good and nutritious today. Above is a picture of the pizza they had on Valentines Day with 100% whole wheat crust, light on the cheese and other fattening ingredients, and heavy on pinneapple.
Well, the results are in. Bill weighed in at 273 pounds a gain of two pounds. (Go figure!) Rhonda, however lost two pounds and is right on track at 246 pounds.
Here are their points for this week. Remember, they shoot for 90 points out of the 100 points a day that is possible. Nd remember, exercise accounts for a possible 50 points of the total.
Rhonda: (S) 97 (M) 80 (T) 80 (W) 80 (T)100 (F) 100
Bill: (S) 100 (M) 100 (T) 100 (W) 100 (T) 90 (F) 100
Bill: (S) 100 (M) 100 (T) 100 (W) 100 (T) 90 (F) 100
That's odd that your weight went up, even though your scores were perfect. Bodies just do that sometimes. Keep up the good work. It will all work out eventually!
